What Makes a Fine Art Print?
Why Quality Matters in Printing
Every photograph on this site is available as a gallery-quality print — created with an uncompromising focus on materials, craftsmanship, and local production. Unlike fast prints from department stores or bulk online labs, fine art prints are made with the same care and precision you’d expect in a professional gallery or museum.
All fine art prints are produced on Ilford GALERIE Smooth Cotton Rag 310gsm — a 100% cotton, museum-grade matte paper chosen for its subtle tonal richness, excellent detail retention, and archival longevity. Printed with pigment inks, each print is made to last a lifetime without fading.
Framed prints are completed with a handmade timber frame, museum-grade mat board, UV-protective acrylic, and acid-free backing — all produced and assembled here in Australia by my trusted partner, Frameshop in Sydney. These aren’t just pictures for your wall; they’re carefully crafted objects that honour the moment they represent.
In addition to cotton rag prints, I also offer gallery-quality canvas prints, made using premium cotton canvas and archival inks. Each canvas is expertly stretched over solid timber stretcher bars and finished with a clean mirror, black, or white edge wrap. Canvas prints offer a more tactile, contemporary presence — ready to hang and designed to be enjoyed for decades.
